On Friday 27th April students braved the elements to participate in a team building camp exercise, in preparation for their volunteering trip to Costa Rica.

Students and trip leaders managed to set up camp, get a fire lit and cook a splendid meal surrounded by mud, mist and later on, torrential rain. However, the skies cleared a little on Saturday morning which allowed tents to dry out but did not stop the college minibus getting stuck in the mud. Team building skills really came to the fore to get it out of the mud and back to the main car park for the journey home.
Before leaving, students took part in activities such as Air Rifle shooting and Bush Craft skills where a competitive spirit emerged amongst the group.

The trip to Costa Rica in June will be a real test of resilience, teamwork and stamina for the team who will be working in a school in San Jose before going on the Barra Honda National Park to carry out essential conservation work.
Fundraising work for the trip continues and any donations to support this would be very much appreciated as we are still around £5,000 short of our overall target of £20,000.
