GCSE Results day might be a distant memory, or you could remember it like it was yesterday, but this 15th of August, when results come out we know that there are plenty of nerves out there. Here are our top tips for dealing with results day!

1. Be open about your feelings.
If you’re nervous, anxious or stressed then make sure that you’re communicating these feelings with friends, family or trusted individuals. It’s important not to keep these feelings bottled up, and not to be embarrassed about how you feel. Its advice we give a lot but a problem shared is a problem halved.

2. Get some rest!
You might feel like nerves will get the better of you the day before, so it’s important to try and get some rest. Uni might be riding on these results, but a good night’s sleep will help you wake up feeling rested and ready to face the day and you will be in the best mindset to deal with your results.

3. Don’t go it alone!
Be with friends or loved ones whens you get your results. It’s better to have someone there to help you if things don’t go to plan, you will have someone to help talk through options and make a new plan! If they do, then you have someone to celebrate with!

4. Stay off Socials
The night before and the morning of results day it is best to stay clear of Facebook and the like, as other people stress posting will just make you feel worse if you’re feeling stressed! Also if you could find yourself comparing yourself to, don't because it will stop you from seeing how much you have achieved!

5. What if things don’t go to plan?
KEEP CALM, DON’T PANIC. It may feel like the end of the world, but there is always plenty of options and solutions for every situation. Make sure that you have all of your UCAS logins ready so you can enter results or check offers. If you don’t manage to get a place from your offers, then you might be offered an alternative by the universities you applied for or you can search through the UCAS clearing service

6. If things have gone to plan…
It’s time to celebrate! You should be pleased with everything you’ve achieved. You can relax now and get ready for September. BUT first, make sure you have accepted your UCAS offers if you need to!
We hope to see you all on results day. We will have breakfast celebration ready so you can share your success with friends or loved ones and many of your teachers and tutors will be there too! We will be open from 8am till 10am and will be here to celebrate!
