For the third year in a row Worthing College retained its winning title at the Sussex round of National Schools at Roedean on Saturday 12th October. See below for match report.

Despite raining all day, making the occasion a very damp affair, they won every game convincingly and played with intensity throughout. Playing in the squad were; Shelby Harris, Iona Gardner, Charlotte Stacey, Livi Miller, Eli Middleton, Eloise Harding, Phoebe Whitelam, Becky Lloyd, Lauren Felstead and Megan Briggs. The team were a mix of first, second and third year students and all had the opportunity to play across the day with various combinations proving to be highly successful.
Here are some interesting statistics. The team scored 135 goals over the 11 matches, averaging at just over a goal per minute played. The defence conceded 27 goals in 132 minutes of netball, which is one goal every five minutes!
Coach Tina Price said, ‘’I am delighted with the girls’ success at the Sussex round of the National schools competition. It was great to see our new squad working so well together.’’
We wish the team continued success in the Southern round of the National schools competition in January in their quest to retaining the National Title.
